葡萄牙米尼奥大学Alberto Dias教授和Patricia Maciel教授应邀来我院讲学

319,葡萄牙米尼奥大学Alberto Dias Patricia Maciel两位教授应邀来我院讲学和开展合作研究,在茶树生物学省重点实验室会议室分别作了题为“Natural products research: from lab to clinical applicationsDrug discovery for neurodegenerative diseases: from genes to therapy”的学术报告。报告会由我院副院长宋新强主持,我院部分教师及研究生聆听了报告。

Alberto Dias和 Patricia Maciel分别就自己的学术背景、研究领域等做了相关阐述,报告内容涉及人口与健康领域的多个方面。Alberto Dias教授介绍了天然产物研究从实验室到临床应用的最新进展, Patricia Maciel教授与大家分享了他近些年开展神经退行性疾病治疗的相关研究成果。随后,两位学者与我院师生就相关问题进行了互动交流,现场学术氛围浓厚。

报告人简介:


Alberto DiasDegree in Applied Biology (Univ. Lisbon, 1989), MSc in Biotechnology (IST 1993), PhD (UMINHO, 2001). Professor at University of Minho.




   Presently he is coordinator of CITAB-UM pole of the University of Minho and (FCT Research Center) and coordinator of AgroBioPlant Research group (ECUM, Uminho), and director of AgriChains, International FCT PhD program, in collaboration with UTAD (Vila Real, Portugal), Wagening University (Netherlands) and Univ. Politecnica de Valencia (Valencia, Spain).



 He was coordinator and member of several international and national research projects. He published more than 75 SCI papers and books chapters, and is member of the Editorial team of Planta Medica and Frontiers in Pharmacology journals.




 Patrcia Maciel obtained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry (1993) and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences Genetics (1998) at the University of Porto, Portugal. Her doctoral studies included an initial training period at the Hôpital NeckerEnfants Malades, Paris, France, and four years in the Rouleau lab at the Centre for Research in Neuroscience, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.

 Dr. Maciel is currently an Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the School of Medicine and a Senior Researcher at the Health and Life Sciences Research Institute of the University of MinhoBraga, Portugal, where she develops works in the field of Neurogenetics, addressing molecular mechanisms of neuronal function and dysfunction, in connection to human neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases. She is also the Director of the MSc program in Health Sciences and coordinates Molecular Genetics Diagnosis services.
